Betfred Joining Offer – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bet

For this offer, you’ll need to open an account with Betfred using the link below and an account with Betfair Exchange. This offer is not available in the ROI.

  • Join Betfred here

Make sure the odds shown on the Betfred website are in a decimal format (i.e. 2.0 rather than 3/1). These can be found on the left hand side towards the bottom of the page, under price format.

  • Join Betfair (Exchange) here

Step 1: Once you’ve joined both above, open the ‘ODDSMATCHING’ page from the menu. Then select Filters on the left hand side (in green).

  • Click the Min. Odds box (a tick should appear) then type 2.0 in the box below
  • Click the Max. Odds box (a tick should appear) then type 5.0 in the box below
  • Click the Limit Bookmaker box (a tick should appear) and from the list select Bet Fred
  • Click the Limit Exchange box (a tick should appear) and from the list select Betfair
  • Click Apply (in green) below
  • A list of possible options will be shown, ordered by Rating (the higher the Rating, the more profit you will make from this offer)
  • Select your chosen match by clicking the calculator symbol on the far left. A pop-up box will appear with the odds of your match. This is the Matched Betting Calculator
  • From the drop down box below Event Information, select Normal
  • In Bookmaker Stake over-type what’s in there with 10.00
  • Back Odds and Lay Odds will be pre-populated with the correct odds
  • Lay Commission should be 5%
  • Click Calculate. In Results ‘you could lay’ indicates how much you’ll need to place at Betfair (see below for how to do this). You’ll also see below how much you’ll win or lose from the If the Bookmaker wins etc.. section. It’s likely you’ll lose a few pence, but don’t worry. This is all about qualifying for the free bet

Step 2: Go to Betfred and place a £10 bet on your chosen event (from Step 1) and at Betfair bet the amount shown in the Matched  Betting Calculator in (see ‘you could lay’) against your chosen event (your lay bet). This will always be shown in pink and not blue.

NB You will now have bet on an event happening (for example, Newcastle winning at Betfred) and also against this event happening (for example, Newcastle not winning), so regardless of the outcome you’ll either win at Betfred or at Betfair. Those 2 bets totally cancel each other out. You will have, however, qualified for a free bet..

Step 3:  Betfred should credit your free bet within 48 hours of your bet being settled. Use the Oddsmatching software in Step 1 to find a close match for your free bet.

  • Click the Min. Odds box (a tick should appear) and type 4.0 in the box below (to maximise profit). I recommend that all free bets are bet at odds of over 4.0. The higher the odds, the more profit the free bet will make, although I’d also limit the bet to 8.0 also, to limit the liability you’ll need in the exchange.
  • Click the Max. Odds box (a tick should appear) then type 8.0 in the box below
  • Click the Limit Bookmaker box (a tick should appear) and from the list select Bet Fred
  • Click the Limit Exchange box (a tick should appear) and from the list select Betfair
  • Click Apply (in green) below
  • From the drop down box below Event Information, select Free Bet (SNR).
  • In  Bookmaker Stake over-type what’s in there with 30.00
  • Click Calculate.

Step 4: Go back to Betfred and place your £30 free bet on your chosen event. Tick the box which states ‘Place using free balance’ on the betslip. At Betfair place your lay bet amount as per the Matched Betting Calculator.

Step 5: Done! Once the free bet outcome has settled, this offer should make around £21 to £24 profit.
